What I know about your life
What I know about your life.
I know your life is valuable beyond what you may know, or acknowledge. This is what I know about your life.
I know it doesn’t matter if you are broke. I know it doesn’t matter if you are an addict. It doesn’t matter if you have been embezzling money from your company. It doesn’t matter if you have gambled away all of your savings. It doesn’t matter if you are gay. It doesn’t matter if you are straight. It doesn’t matter what your sexual orientation is, or is not. It doesn’t matter if you think your family will hate you for who you love, or who you have had sex with. It doesn’t matter if you are pregnant, or if you got someone pregnant. It doesn’t matter if you had a miscarriage, or a healthy baby. It doesn’t matter if you hate yourself. It doesn’t matter if you hate the decisions you have made. It doesn’t matter if you think you are a terrible human.
All these reasons are ones people have used to convinced themselves their life wasn’t worth living. These are reasons other people have died. These are reasons the people who care about you will say, “That is not a good enough reason to die!”
When people have someone they love attempt, or complete suicide one of the first questions asked is, “Why?” If they are given any answer you are considering, it won’t be a good enough reason. I know that about your life.
This is what I know about your life. No one is better off without you. No one’s life will be easier if you are dead. No one will move on and feel better and get over it after a couple of years. No one will reconcile the loss of your life with time. This is what I know about your life.
This is what I know about your life. Your suicide death would cost society an average of $1,300,000.00. Your suicide attempt would cost society an average of $650,000.00. This is what I know about your life. Not only is it valuable beyond monetary value for your creativity, your spark, your input, and your engagement in our families, communities, and humanity in general, I can also put a cost on your life now as well, and it is worth more than you can imagine, if you are considering suicide.
This is what I know about your life. If you are in the throws of depression, I know depression is treatable. If you are being strangled by anxiety, I know anxiety is treatable. If you are considering suicide, I know you have a reason you think is acceptable, and I also know in 5 years, you will not think that reason you accept now as acceptable is valid. If you are actively suicidal call someone you trust and start talking. Words are the heat and the light that kill the fungus of suicidality.
This is what I know about your life. I know humanity, history and society is not the same without you. Thanks for being here.
